"The point is not to pay back kindness but to pass it
on."
                                              (Julia Alvarez)
Sailor Kate's story is one that God has unfolded before our very eyes, and one that continues,
weaving in more characters as He touches more people. We don't believe that He means for us to
keep it to ourselves. Because of our experience and the many blessings He has shown us through this
tragedy, we find it an honor to share our story with others. As her mother, I have spoken at many
churches and organizations, welcoming any opportunity to share the testimony. We still donate teddy
bears in her memory, and most importantly, we pray for others who share similar experiences that
they, too, will be showered with blessings.
The GA's of Zion Hope Baptist Church
completed a teddy bear drive in
February of 2009 under the guidance of
their leader Amanda Talbert. They
collected a total of 135 bears for
Sailor's Snuggles! Thanks, girls! God
will surely bless you for your kindness!
Mission Trip to California
May 2009
My mom (Betty), Jill (sister-in-law) and I went out to CA on a very special mission. A
family out there lost a child in an accident last May that was similar to our
experience. We went out there to meet them and deliver a quilt that has been made
and assembled by many caring people. God has orchestrated the whole
experience-to read the full story,

We are also planning to donate a bunch of teddy bears from "Sailor's Snuggles". A
teddy bear drive is going on now in our community, led by a local little girls' softball
team (Go Tomboys!), and TCHS Student Council.
We funded this trip with a
Cajun Fried Turkey Sandwich plate sale , held on Friday,
May 1, and this sale turned out to be a big success! Thanks to everyone who
joined in!
We shared the testimony while we were in CA with many people. Click

The Sailor Kate Ministry is led by God, operated by family and friends and open to
anyone who wants to jump in with us and be a part of the blessings.
Tomboys Softball Team 2009>
The Tomboys Softball Pitching Machine team is
striking up, not out! They are striking up a teddy
bear drive for local charity Sailor’s Snuggles. They
are hitting this line drive all the way to California!
Coaches Mauri Jarrard  and Meagan Knies are in
charge of the collection. They and the Tomboys
are excited about supporting this charity. These
teddy bears collected will be sent on a Sailor Kate
Ministry mission trip to California next month to be
given to medically fragile children.
Barons Biscuit Reading Club
The Barons Biscuit Reading Club at Bleckley
County Middle School in Cochran, GA collected
teddy bears in November 09 after learning of
Sailor Kate's story through the Ed Grisamore's
article in the Telegraph. Thanks, guys! You are a
blessing and you will be blessed because of it!
Girl Scouts of McRae
This Girl Scout Troop collected teddy
bears for Sailor Kate Ministry in Dec.
09.  These bears are to be given to
the Sheriff's Dept. of Telfair County.
Thanks, girls! You are blessing to
our community!
    Mt. Carmel Baptist Youth
The youth at Mt. Carmel Baptist in Dexter,
GA collected lots of teddy bears for
Sailor Kate Ministry. These bears are
destined for Pensacola, FL to be given to
the children at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Thanks, y'all! These bears will bless and
you will be blessed for giving them!
Sailor Kate Ministry had a very

The youngest members of Sailor Kate Ministry,
Tanner and Randi Chele (Sailor's cousin and sister),
delivered bears to the children at Fairview Park
Hospital in Dublin, GA.  on Dec. 21. We are praying
that all of these kids get well, too! They also took
treats to the nurses who work so hard to take care
of these little patients. God bless them, too!
