"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love
endures forever. He will restore the fortunes to this land."
                                           Jeremiah 33:11
I posted on my Facebook page in
January 2015 that I knew how
fast life could turn upside down.
This was in reference to a tragedy
in my hometown. Just days later,
my own life turned upside down
(again!) when our house burned to
the ground. We are so blessed to
have survived and also to have the
support of so many family, friends,
and kind people in our community
and network. Our mighty God
poured out His love once again in
the face of tragedy.
Our friend and columnist, Ed Grisamore,
published a story about our situation in
the Macon Telegraph. Click

the story.
After the fire...
We found one of our Bibles in the ashes after the fire. It was soggy
and charred but still intact and miraculously open to the page with
the verse Jeremiah 33:11
(Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His
love endures forever. He will restore the fortunes to this land.)
 God
immediately began to fulfil that verse for us as He showed His
goodness and sent kind people to help us through this tragedy.
The bears came tumbling in from everywhere!
Thanks to all the generous people who support SKM!
Rhett and I found the best treasure
yet as we dug in the ashes. We
discovered Sailor Kate's clothes! I had
saved them with plans to make a quilt.
They were a little charred but
definitely salvageable and God had truly
protected them. Tears and sweet
memories...
Sweet baby Clayton celebrated his
first birthday in March 2015 and
asked his guests to bring a teddy
bear to donate to SKM. Thanks,
friends and family of Clayton! :)
Dodge County High School
Anchor and Interact Clubs
sponsored a teddy bear drive for
us in March. It was an honor to
meet them and share our story
with these generous students.
Girl Scout Troop 60659 sponsored a teddy bear drive for SKM in
June. These sweet girls even donated the cheetahs they had
earned from selling GS cookies!
We traveled to Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL in
July. We met over 100 children who were patients there and
offered our bears and prayers. Thanks so much to all who sent
bears so that we could pass them along!
